Yu Lun Lu is a Taiwanese artist and designer working primarily with leather, fiber and mixed materials. Her practice explores the sensorial connection between humans and natural matter, often incorporating tactile materials such as vegetable-tanned leather, wool felt, and metal.

Drawing from her background in fashion design, she creates sculptural garments and body-related installations that highlight curves and form while addressing issues of memory, existence and transformation.

Engaged with women’s rights, intimately personal emotion, phenomena in society , her work reflects on how the body retains traces of experience in invisible and visible ways. She is particularly interested in the concept of “how to exist” and “existence after impact”—what remains after time. Through labor-intensive processes such as shaping

leather, wool felting, molding, and metal oxidation, she reveals the tension between permanence and decay, softness and resistance.

Her material language is defined by transformation: leather that darkens with touch and sun, wool fibers that tangle into fabric through friction, metal surfaces that rust and oxidize unpredictably. These evolving surfaces become living records of time and process, echoing her broader interest in physical and emotional residues.

Her work has been exhibited both in Taiwan and internationally, with recent exhibitions including her solo show “Projection, Reflection, Imagination and Chaos” at Madeleine Gallery (2024), and group shows at National Art Exhibition of Taiwan (2023), 

RLSD Exhibition in the UK(2022), and Design-A-Bag Award exhibition in the UAE (2023). 

Her work “The Sight” (2022) received multiple awards for its bold visual language
and its powerful feminist critique of objectification and sexual violence.
